The
Tradition Continues...
A family tradition
of quality and service continues... Lucien Little, Dave's grandfather,
founded the business in 1915. He started in the shoe trade as
a shoe salesman and covered Southwest Texas.
He later opened a shoe repair department. He could never in his
wildest dreams imagine that shoe repairing would eventually lead
to one of the finest custom boot shops in the USA.
Ben Little, Dave's father, started making boots. Local ranchers
and cowboys were the first customers and they wanted heavy boots
for working. However, by the forties, Ben was designing fancy
boots, pointed toes and pitched heels with inlays, overlays and
dense rows of stitching.
After Ben Little died in 1966, the sons took over the family business.
John Little, Dave's older brother, continued the family tradition.
In 1975 Dave began the transition of the Little's Boot from a
western cowboy boot into a boot of outstanding craftsmanship and
has obtained recognition of superb quality. Sharon Little, Dave's
oldest daughter, worked part time while growing up and came to
work full time in 1985 after graduating from the University of
Texas at San Antonio with a Business Degree.
Sharon has contributed by introducing a computer in the office
for accounting and to keep track of mailing list, production and
order list. And she is gradually taking over the running of the
boot operation from her father who is currently working his way
into semi-retirement.
Dave, third generation and Sharon, the fourth generation have
worked side by side to make Little's Boots the operation it is
today.
